ATS-DCP 2000

Digital operation control of the US-2000 banding machine.

ATS-DCP 2100

Digital operation control of the US-2100 banding machine.

Banding

Banding refers to a process in packaging technology in which products are closed with a band or collected into one unit. The banding or strapping machine thus wraps the product(s) with a band which is then fused by means of heat or ultrasound.

Botenfile

In a zip code/mailman presorting, an address is compared with an official post office table and where available assigned to the appropriate mailman. These shipments are gathered and banded in bundles.

Burnt film

Burnt in film residues on the heating element

coextruded

This refers to films which are made of different layers. This means, on a base layer a so-called top layer is coextruded. Therefore they are particularly strong and stretchable films.

DCP 2000 V5

The new DCP 2000 V5 digital controller for ultra-high precision, first-class convenience and a comprehensive range of functions. Its ability to store a considerable number of settings represents a major advance in efficiency.

Designer sheet metal

Thanks to the stamped structure in the designer sheet metal, the band is pushed with less friction resistance into the arch. This choice of material makes the machine robust and rapid.

Digital control unit

The digitial control unit allows more precise and storable settings of the various parameters.  Particularly also suitable for "soft" products since the band can be pulled back to a fixed length without harming the product.

E-Commerce

E-Commerce describes the form of distance trading which is processed over the Internet. Distance trading means that products are offered in a catalog, on TV or on the Internet and are delivered to the customer after an order is placed.

Ergonomic operation

Easy, convenient and comfortable operation.

Heat-Sealing

Welding by heating of the coated banding material.

JIT

"JIT" is short for just in time. By means of JIT printing, expiry dates, prices, etc. can be printed immediately before banding. A thermal transfer printer is mostly used for this.

Jumbo rolls

Jumbo rolls with more meters for fewer roll changes.

Labeling

Labeling or tagging describes the application of a label to a stock good or other goods.

Overlapping stream

Overlapping stream is a term from the printing industry and describes the transport of printed material in an overlapping, shingle formation.

Pin conveyor belts

Conveyor belts which are fitted with pins (mostly made of steel) are called pin conveyor belts. These are especially suitable when the conveyor line slopes upwards or downwards because the product can be held with the pin.

Print mark control

With the print mark control the print can be placed at the desired location

RAL colors

RAL colors are standard colors according to a series of color collections for the industry which is published by the Deutsche Institut für Gütesicherung und Kennzeichnung.

Secondary packaging

Secondary packaging is mainly used for protective and monitoring functions. It is not in direct contact with the product. The labels on wine bottles or the cardboard box with primary-packaged products are referred to as secondary packaging or secondary packaging materials.

Shelf ready packaging

Shelf Ready Packaging describes packaging that secures high product availability at the point of sale. The packaging meets the needs of suppliers, manufacturers, trade, and consumers as it is easy to open, can be positioned easily at the point of sale (without unpacking or repacking) and can be easily disposed of.

Soft tension

Very weak band tension for delicate products.

Sonotrode system

The ultrasound vibrations are transferred to the material to be welded by the sonotrode.

Thermal transfer printer

Thermal transfer printers work with color band or color films. The color films are coated with a wax-like color. A push button  heats the color film at the site on which a point should be printed. Thus, the color becomes liquid and is transferred to the paper or film band.

Ultra-Sonic

The ultrasound generator generates electrical vibrations with a frequence of 40,000 Hz per second. These vibrations are transferred to the material to be welded by a sonotrode.
The Ulta-Sonic technology with cold welding guarantees clean sealing and demonstrates numerous advantages:

-no heating time, the machine is immediately operational
-no odor and smoke build up
-no burnt film deposits
-no finger injuries due to heat
-no residues which can fall into the machine
-no replacing of heating elements

The sealing resistance can be set infinitely variable, lightly adhering so the seal can be opened by hand or up to the point of maximum sealing for heavy packages. This technology which works without damaging the edges of the product is appropriate for a variety of uses. Ultrasound is also successfully used for medical diagnoses.
