Banding refers to a process in packaging technology in which products are closed with a band or collected into one unit. The banding or strapping machine thus wraps the product(s) with a band which is then fused by means of heat or ultrasound.


In a zip code/mailman presorting, an address is compared with an official post office table and where available assigned to the appropriate mailman. These shipments are gathered and banded in bundles.

This refers to films which are made of different layers. This means, on a base layer a so-called top layer is coextruded. Therefore they are particularly strong and stretchable films.

Designer sheet metal

Digital control unit

The digitial control unit allows more precise and storable settings of the various parameters.  Particularly also suitable for "soft" products since the band can be pulled back to a fixed length without harming the product.

"JIT" is short for just in time. By means of JIT printing, expiry dates, prices, etc. can be printed immediately before banding. A thermal transfer printer is mostly used for this.

Sonotrode system

The ultrasound vibrations are transferred to the material to be welded by the sonotrode.

Thermal transfer printer

Thermal transfer printers work with color band or color films. The color films are coated with a wax-like color. A push button  heats the color film at the site on which a point should be printed. Thus, the color becomes liquid and is transferred to the paper or film band.


The ultrasound generator generates electrical vibrations with a frequence of 40,000 Hz per second. These vibrations are transferred to the material to be welded by a sonotrode.
The Ulta-Sonic technology with cold welding guarantees clean sealing and demonstrates numerous advantages:

-no heating time, the machine is immediately operational
-no odor and smoke build up
-no burnt film deposits
-no finger injuries due to heat
-no residues which can fall into the machine
-no replacing of heating elements

The sealing resistance can be set infinitely variable, lightly adhering so the seal can be opened by hand or up to the point of maximum sealing for heavy packages. This technology which works without damaging the edges of the product is appropriate for a variety of uses. Ultrasound is also successfully used for medical diagnoses.
