Frequently asked questions about banding machines

A banding machine wraps one or more products with a band made of paper or film, applies a defined tension, and seals it. The result is a clean, stable band without the need for adhesive or shrink film.

Semi-automatic banding machines (standalone) are loaded manually, while the banding process itself runs automatically. Fully automatic systems are integrated into conveyor lines and operate without manual loading, with a continuous product flow.

Banding machines process paper bands (paper, TruePaper, printed bands) as well as film bands made of PE or PP in various widths and thicknesses.

Depending on the model and product size, Tanner banding machines can reach up to 35 or more cycles per minute. For high-volume applications, multi-head or fully automatic systems are available.
